DESCRIPTION:
WW - Tudor Oysterdate "Dive Monte Carlo" chronograph with date, ref 7169/0, manual wind, 39mm x 47mm to lug tips, original stainless steel screw back Oyster case with blue bi-directional timing bezel, screw down pump pushers, vintage Tropic rubber strap, original gray and lavender dial with lume painted indices and orange accents, 17J Valjoux cal 234, s#826878, triple signed. Tudor's first foray into chronographs was with the reference 7032 and 7032 in 1970; however they were soon phased out. In 1971 they released the 7100 series of chronographs. This included the 7149, 7159 and the 7169. The 7169 at the time was the first production chronograph by any manufactuer with both screw down crown, pushers and rotatable dive bezel. Mvt: GRO, excellent-plus cosmetic mvt condition, hardly any oxide; fine dial shows spotting and paint flecks most notably on the 45 minute recorder; excellent hands with light tritium loss in minute hand, improper subregister hands; polished case shows light wear, original lug chamfers still barely visible, bezel shows light wear with paint loss near 1, 3 and 5; signed replacement crown shows little wear, good threads; good plastic crystal with cyclope; resealed for auction.
